ACEA Class Definition

  • B1 : Diesel engine oil whose viscosity protection feature exceeds CCMC PD-2 limits, provides fuel economy and is valid for low viscosity classes.

  • B2 : Conventional diesel engine oil, generally in CCMC PD-2 performance, with improved viscosity retention.

  • B3 : High performance diesel engine oil whose viscosity protection feature exceeds CCMC PD-2 limits and whose viscosity increase is controlled under heavy soot.

  • B4 : Diesel engine oil that has passed direct injection engine tests in addition to B3-98 performance.

  • B5 : Diesel engine oil with low viscosity class, high friction reduction feature, long oil change period, providing fuel economy in indirect and direct injection engines.
